Who should attend the Seminar in Working method university?

This seminar is open to all students:

  • who are new to higher education after leaving secondary school and who have found that their working methods are not suitable;
  • who are starting a new bachelor's year and therefore wish to understand the reasons for their failure so as not to make the same mistakes again;
  • or who simply want to improve their performance, both in terms of the quality of their study and their performance in examinations (to avoid a second session);
  • This seminar is intended to complement, where appropriate, the Coaching private lessonsbut with no obligation to link the two services

What exactly is it about?

All aspects of working methods in higher education (universities, colleges) are reviewed, both theoretically and through practical exercises:

  • Note-taking;
  • Organisation of time;
  • Selection of relevant information;
  • Memory function and memorization techniques ;
  • Role of the table of contents;
  • Exam performance (including MCQs, on request)
  • Application exercises are carried out throughout these courses using real course materials.
Good academic results

Why learn a working method?

Because the phase of adapting to being a student is not easy to manage alone;

Because you have to learn to organise your time efficiently if you want to get to the point and aim for success;

Because you need to know how your memory works to use it well;

To learn not to summarise your lessons (and even less to borrow your neighbour's "synthesis") but to produce detailed plans: it's not the same thing.... And it can be learned!

working method

Objectives of the working method seminar

1. Efficient time management

The working method enables students to learn how to manage their time effectively. At university, courses often require a lot of work outside class hours, including reading books, doing projects and preparing for exams. A good working method helps students to plan their time properly, set priorities and avoid procrastination.

2. Organisation of knowledge

University involves a huge amount of content to assimilate. A structured working method enables students to organise their knowledge in a logical and coherent way. This makes it easier to understand concepts, memorise information and link it together.

3. Development of learning skills

A good working method encourages students to develop learning skills autonomous. This includes the ability to find relevant information, analyse academic texts, synthesise ideas and formulate clear arguments. These skills are essential for academic success, but also for professional life.

4. Preparing for assessments

University assessments, whether exams, written assignments or presentations, require rigorous preparation. An effective working method enables students to prepare adequately by studying regularly, revising lecture notes, practising exercises and asking questions to clarify difficult points.

5. Reducing stress

A well-established working method helps to reduce the stress associated with university studies. By being organised and having a systematic approach to learning, students feel more in control of their work and manage their workload better. This helps to prevent burnout and maintain a balance between studying and other aspects of life.

In short, the working methods seminar teaches effective time management, knowledge organisation, the development of learning skills, preparation for assessments and stress reduction. Students are encouraged to 'tame' a working method that suits their own needs and to adapt it as they progress through their university career.
